Walter Barnes Obituary
He is survived by his son, William Barnes; sister, Mary Jane Hague; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Sue Barnes Rogers.
A memorial service for Walter will be held at 12:30PM Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Harrodsburg Road with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 10:30AM.
Memorial donations are suggested to Lafayette Church of the Nazarene, or St. Jude’s.

Walter(Jr) was a kind, caring, funny, smart and compassionate man who could fix just about anything! He believed in the Lord, he would always tell me not to worry about things because all earthly things were temporary. He loved his family, the ocean, music, playing poker, but most of all he loved his son William. He gave up his life to take care of his mother until her last day here on earth. Walter may have had his own issues he dealt with, as we all do, but he was a GOOD MAN!! May you rest easy and fly high! Thank you for all the love and fond memories you gave to me and my daughter! You will never be forgotten!!
