Kristopher Karl Alfred

Kristopher Karl Alfred, 51, passed away on January 31, 2026 in Lexington, KY after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Kris received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Kentucky. Kris was a prolific and passionate writer. Writing wasn't just something he did, but was how he made sense of the world, how he focused the creativity that flowed so freely thru him. Even through years of illness and setbacks, his creativity, voice, and determination never left him. Kris had a strong connection to crystals and made a successful business, Seeker's Stones, designing jewelry that kept his spirits lifted during some of his toughest moments fighting cancer. Kris leaves behind his parents, Marilyn and Ken Baker, brothers Christopher Baker and Lee Baker, his adored cat Isabella, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Lexington Cemetery Mausoleum at 2PM on Friday, Feb. 13th, Steve Wainwright officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lexington Humane Society, 1600 Old Frankfort Pike, Lexington, KY 40504 in honor of his love for cats or to Bluegrass Care Navigators, 1733 Harrodsburg Rd., Lexington, KY 40504 for the love and tender care they showed him throughout his cancer battle.
