Daniel Fredrick Wood

Daniel F. Wood, 84 of Birnamwood, died on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Wisconsin Veterans Home at King in Waupaca, under the care of Compassus Hospice.

Daniel was born on November 11, 1941, in Antigo, the son of Daniel and Irene (Kosbab) Wood.

Along with his brothers Stanley and Orville 'Pete', Daniel owned and operated a farm for many years. In addition to farming, he drove truck and worked at the local feed store. Daniel enjoyed driving around and listening to music, and in recent years he looked forward to his Friday meals with family. He deeply cherished his time spent with family.

Daniel is survived by two sisters, Lois Owen and Iris (Joseph) Steinke, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Daniel was preceded in death by two sisters, Caroline Garbisch and Bernice Wood; five brothers, Stanley Wood, James (Agatha) Wood, Orville 'Pete' (Delores) Wood, Roger (Stella) Wood and Julius Wood and brother-in-law, Wayne Owen.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Birnamwood. Rev. Matthew Christians will preside. Visitation will be on Saturday, from 9 AM until the time of service at the church. Immediately following the service, Military Rites will take place in the church parking lot, conducted by Darling-Gunderson Post #341, American Legion.
