Daniel Eugene Woods, a veteran, dedicated first responder, and beloved family man, passed away on December 9, 2025, at the age of 67. Born in Bremerton, Washington, to Ray Woods and Arlene Tellinghusen Woods, Daniel's life was defined by his commitment to helping others and his vibrant, often mischievous, personality.

Daniel proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he continued to protect his community, working as a paramedic and a volunteer firefighter. He also brought his talents to the restaurant industry, where he expressed his love for others through the food he prepared. Later in life, he moved to Michigan to be closer to his extended family.

Beyond his professional life, Daniel was a man of deep intellect and faith. He found great joy in studying the Torah and the Hebrew language. He was also a known friend to all animals; stray pets seemed to instinctively find their way to his door, knowing they would find a kind soul.

To those who knew him, Daniel was a source of both wisdom and laughter. He was famous for his "stubborn streak"-which caused plenty of frustration but was always rooted in love-and his ability to turn a frown into a smile.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Arlene Woods; his brother, Frank Woods; and his daughter, Heather Higgins Woods.

His legacy lives on through his family: children: Eliyahu Guillermo Woods and Tiffany Michelle Weaver; granddaughter: Jasmine Rose Fugate; brothers: Mike Woods and Ray Woods; extended family: Linette Kay Morley, June Amber VandenBerg, and Alisha Jo Meade

Daniel was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. His light, his stories, and his unique spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing.
