Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jowett Funeral Home and Cremation Service & Reception Center - Port Huron on Nov. 7, 2024.
Dan Wynn, age 61 of Port Huron Twp., passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024, after a hard fought, 8-month battle with esophageal cancer. He was born on February 12, 1963 in Detroit.
Dan was raised by Bruce and Evelyn Wynn, along with older sister, Sheila, he established his place as "life of the party" early on. He was always a fan of a good time, but never shied away from hard work. At the age of 18, he managed his first convenience store, Lawson's, and rose the ranks to become a top level executive in the gas and oil Industry.
While Dan may have been a successful businessman, his greatest achievement was his family. He met the love of his life, Diane, at the age of 16. They married on March 18, 1983 in St. Clair Shores and faithfully adored her until his final days. Proud to live by the motto "happy wife – happy life", he was honored to make her dreams come to reality; whether that meant a golfing trip to Arizona or a spontaneous trip up north, anything to put a smile on her face. Their love was larger than life, just like Dan. A love story for the ages.
Together they created a beautiful family – 3 kids – Dan, Stacy and Becca, and he loved each one of them fiercely. He was a protector, a provider and a constant stream of unwavering support. Never one to miss a sports game or dance recital, he could always be counted on to be there cheering his kids on. He went on to have 6 grandchildren, and he loved his role as grandpa, relishing in the ability to spoil his grandkids and then send them back home! From family game nights and summertime pool days, to vacations around the country, Dan was happiest surrounded by his family, laughing and enjoying the beautiful life he created. He left a legacy that will not soon be forgotten and he will be missed forever.
Dan is survived by his wife, Diane, children; Dan (Amber), Stacy (Joseph) and Becca (Matt), grandchildren; Jacob, Isabel, Jonathan, Gavin, Owen and Weston and sister, Sheila Freude and her family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Bruce and Evelyn Wynn, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law; Jim and Rose Baetens.
