Dannie D. Ashcraft, born January 8, 1947, passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy of service, dedication, and love for his family and community.

A proud 1965 graduate of Westfall High School, Dannie went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Air Force. His commitment to service continued throughout his life, particularly in his career in the fire service, a calling that ran deep in his family as a third-generation firefighter.

Dannie faithfully served as a volunteer firefighter with the Harrisburg Volunteer Fire Department and later served as Fire Prevention Officer for Darby Township. He dedicated twenty-seven years to the Jackson Township Fire Department, where his leadership, courage, and steady presence earned him the rank of Fire Chief before his retirement. His career was marked not only by professionalism and integrity, but by genuine care for the people and communities he served.

Dannie was preceded in death by his parents, Delmar and Beulah (Sisson) Ashcraft, and his nephew Jeffrey Karshner.

Dannie is survived by his beloved wife of sixty years, Linda (Calhoun) Ashcraft, whose partnership and devotion were the foundation of their family. He also leaves behind his son Dannie (Kathie) Ashcraft, and daughter Anita (Matt) Peoples. His cherished grandchildren; Dustin (Brittney) Widmayer, Brittany (Chris) Davis, Brandon Ashcraft, Matthew Peoples and Dannielle Peoples. And treasured great-grandchildren; Corbin Widmayer, Mila Widmayer, Samuel Davis, Phillip Davis, and Anna Davis. He is also survived by his sister, Amy (Jeff) Karshner, and nieces Erin Webb and Cortney Karshner-Rathmel and their families. As well as special friends; John & Anita Beard, Les & Sandie Guy, and Steve & Julie Peitsmeyer.

Dannie’s life was defined by service to his country, his community and most of all his family. His legacy of bravery, leadership, and love will live on in all who knew him.
