Dannie Mitchell Crawford, age 85, of Wyoming Road, Hillsboro, passed away peacefully Monday, February 16, 2026, at UK Medical Center in Lexington.

Born March 4, 1940, in Fleming County, Dannie was the son of the late Tilton Crawford and Grace Moore Crawford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Nadine Barker.

Dannie is survived by the only woman he ever loved, his wife, Linda Denton Crawford; his daughter, Tammy Barber of Hillsboro; and eleven special grandchildren, Richard "Little Rick" Barber, Jr. (Becky), Leah Cooley (Nathan), Brookelyn Barber (Dylan Burton), Skylar Weaver (Wesley), Nick Taylor, Breanna Barber, Mitchell Barber, Emma Cooley, River Hilterbrand, Ryker Gearhart, and Saige Weaver.

He is also survived by one who was as close as a child, his beloved Australian Shepherd, Joanie, along with extended family and many dear friends.

Dannie was a lifelong farmer and a member of Grange City Christian Church. He also worked at the Maysville, KY King Tobacco Warehouse and Eastern KY Tobacco Warehouse. He enjoyed coon hunting, riding horses, and fishing, and he loved an ice-cold Diet Coke. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
