Danny Lee Abbott passed away on December 26, 2023. He was known for his kind soul and his willingness to do anything for the people he loved. Danny's love for Jesus was evident in all aspects of his life and he often engaged in heartfelt discussions about his faith.
Born on October 3, 1950, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Danny grew up surrounded by a loving family. He was the son of proud parents and had a close bond with his brother Eddie Abbott, who preceded Danny in death. Throughout his life, family remained a central focus for Danny.
In addition to his successful career as a machinist, Danny enjoyed indulging in various sports. He was an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Dallas Cowboys. Golfing was also one of his passions, as well as watching NASCAR races and attending car races at I-30 Speedway. In moments where he sought solace, he found comfort in watching western movies. However, no movie could captivate him more than "The Christmas Story," which he watched repeatedly.
Danny's warm presence will be missed by many, but none more so than his immediate family. He is survived by his loving wife Melissa Abbott of Benton, Arkansas. Their bond throughout their years together was unbreakable. Danny has three children who brought immense joy to his life: Ashley Sanders and her husband Jeremy of Bryant, Arkansas; Tristan Abbott and his wife Somyr of Conway, Arkansas; and Kristan Abbott of Benton, Arkansas.
A source of great delight for Danny were his three grandchildren: Aurora, Lincoln, and Lucas.
Danny is also survived by three sisters: Judy, Barbara, and Debbie; his mother-in-law Donna Jones of Van Buren, Arkansas; brother-in-law Daniel Cullipher and his wife Debra of Van Buren, Arkansas; sister-in-law Angelina Cullipher; grandmother-in-law Irene Moore; as well as his best friend and constant companion, Melina Stowe. He will be missed always by his niece, Emily Cullipher; and nephews: Kode Stowe, Deven Stowe, and Ezekiel Cullipher.
Danny's presence in the lives of his extended family and friends will remain unforgettable. His impact on those around him was immeasurable, and his loss will be deeply felt by a host of other relatives and close friends.
A memorial service to honor the life of Danny Lee Abbott will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, at the Smith-Benton Funeral Home in Benton, Arkansas. The service will begin at 2:00 PM.
