Danny Wayne ("Dan") Andrews was born to Cecil Odell Andrews and Shirley Jean Cox on October 29, 1960 in Lubbock, Texas. Dan passed away on July 15, 2025. Dan met Donna Kay Tumlinson on a blind date in Lubbock, while on leave from his military service, and they were married in November 1983.
Dan graduated from Lubbock High School in Lubbock Texas in 1979 and soon after joined the United States Marines where he served until 1985. Shortly after Dan began his career as a Texas State Trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety until his retirement in 2010, spending most of his career in Denton County, Texas. Dan utilized his knowledge as a DPS Trooper to start a successful Department of Transportation compliance consulting business aptly named, DOT Trooper Consulting, in 2010 which provides consulting services to the Texas trucking industry.
Dan loved God, his family, and truly cared for others. Dan found the greatest joy in spending time with his two grandsons and traveling with his wife Donna. Dan will always be remembered as one who loved to laugh and joke around and always willing to lend a helping hand when needed.
Dan was preceded in death by his father Cecil Odell Andrews and his son Evan Grant Andrews.
Dan is survived by his wife Donna Andrews of Granbury, Texas, his daughter Andrea Hughes and her husband Ben, grandsons Hudson and Pierson Hughes of Pinehurst, TX, his mother Shirley Andrews of Lubbock, TX, his brother Rick Andrews (Debbie) of Denton, TX, Gary Andrews (Linda) of Katy, TX, Randy Andrews (Glenna) of Lubbock, TX, Tim Andrews (Angel) of Lubbock, TX, brother-in-law Mike (Mona) Tumlinson of Early, TX, and many nephews and nieces.
