Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Danny Ray Baker, age 72 of Hollingsworth Road passed away on September 5, 2024 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Four Oaks. Rev. Kevin Edwards will officiate. Burial will follow in the Four Oaks City Cemetery.

Danny was born on February 17, 1952 in Johnston County to the late William Baker and Gladys Allen Baker. Along with his parents Danny was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Nicki Baker. Danny worked for the Town of Smithfield as a Superintendent at the Water and Sewer Department where he retired. Danny was also a founding member of the Four Oaks Rescue Squad for over 25 years. Danny was an avid fisherman who loved Nascar and loved to garden, but his greatest love was his family. Danny was a loving Husband, Father, Papa, Brother, and a great friend. 

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Nan Boyette Baker; children, April Hall and husband, Brandon, Brian Baker and wife, Sandy; grandchildren, Christin McCullen and special friend, Jamie Taylor, Lauren Byrd, Meagan Baker and special friend, Rex Maynor II, Taylor Baker and special friend, John Page, Emily Hall, Holly Baker, Sydney Hall, Brittney Benson and husband, Drake; great grandchildren, Caleb McCullen and MaKenize Stanley; brother, Ray Baker and wife, Margaret; sister, LaRue Hall and husband, Don; son adopted by love; Daniel Baker and family; Danny’s “granddaughters by love”, Anna Ingram, Caroline Tapley and Ashlyn Hix; fur baby, Bentley.

The family would like to extend a thanks to the UNC Johnston Health ICU nurses and staff for the wonderful care that was given to Danny and his family.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 10 from 2:00PM to 2:45PM at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks.
