Danny Ray Bays Sr.

Danny Ray Bays, Sr., age 78, of Sanger, Tx passed away at Presbyterian Hospital in Denton, Tx on Friday, September 12, 2025. A graveside service was held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 15, 2025. Danny was born on October 4, 1946 in Denton to JC and Virginia (Priddy) Bays. Danny served in the United States Army from 1966 through 1968 and again from 1973 through 1978. Danny owned a shoe repair shop in Denton then went on to a career with the United States Postal Service where he worked for 41 years and 11 months. After retirement, Danny enjoyed working in his yard, spending time with his family and friends, and throwing in the occasional joke. He enjoyed spending time with his father-in-law, Bill, fishing as much as they could. Danny is survived by his loving wife of 35 years: Debbie (Buck) Bays of Sanger; sons: Garrett and wife Taylor Bays of Sanger, and Danny Bays, Jr. of Denton; sister-in-law: Cheryl Buck of Sanger; father-in-law: Bill Buck of Saint Jo; and many extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents: JC and Virginia Bays; brother: Bobby Bays; and sister: Marylin Clinkinbeard. Danny will be missed by his family, his church family, and all who knew him.
