Virginia Rae Bays

Virginia Rae Bays passed away on November 12, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born on January 12, 1944, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Virgil and Lucia (DiNapoli) Henley.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Randy Henley.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Larry Bays; her siblings, John (Michelle) Henley and Elizabeth (Henley) Sargent; her children, Suzan (Adam) Galbreath and Jennifer Bays; and her grandchildren, Hailey and Dennis Galbreath, who will miss their grandmother dearly and carry her love and memories with them always. She is also remembered by her nephews, Nathan (Sadie) Sargent, Matthew Henley, and Andrew (Vanessa) Henley.

Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 5 to 6 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The celebration of life service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Virginia will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions in Virginia’s honor may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
