Dan Cason Cross, Jr. of Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on April 11, 1942, in Fort Smith to the late Dan Cason Cross, Sr. and Marie Geraldine (Phillips) Cross. He was 83 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; his two spouses, Shirley (Graham) Cross and Lavonne (Barcheers) Cross; and two sisters, Ann Graham and Katy Winton.

For many years, Danny was an electrician and retired from Hanna Oil and Gas Company. Danny was a member of Union Baptist Church and enjoyed farming, gardening, and working in his yard. He was an avid reader, often reading 2 to 3 books a week. He loved his family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 16th at Lavaca First Baptist Church, with Pastor Steven Smithson and Pastor Kyle Horton officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Valley Cemetery, located south of Lavaca, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by three daughters, Jeanna McKee and husband Curtis, Janet Gibson and husband Bo, and Jo Cross, all of Lavaca; a brother, Tom Gamble of Van Buren; five grandchildren, Eric McEntire, Jordan Fisher and husband Michael, Alex McEntire and wife Amanda, Isaac McEntire, and Taylor Gibson; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Justin Green, Cory Green, Jon Noel, Ben Noel, Josh Stewart, Anthony Burnett, Daniel Burnett, and Jason Graham.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Lavaca First Baptist Church.
