Danny Dorman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Columbia Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Jan. 15, 2026.
Danny "Dan" Leo Dorman, a cherished husband, brother, stepfather, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away on January 8, 2026, at the age of 83. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless treasured memories. Born on November 1, 1942, to Bernice "Bea" and Bernard Dorman, Dan grew up in the Pacific Northwest and spent his life in the communities of Camas, Washougal, and Vancouver, Washington, as well as West Linn, Portland, and most recently Warren, Oregon.

Following in his father's footsteps, Dan built a long and dedicated career in the paper industry. He began at Crown Zellerbach in Camas, where he worked for eight years, and went on to spend 32 years with Western Transportation before retiring in 2002.

In 1995, Dan married his loving wife, Debi. Over the next 30 years, they built a beautiful life together. He was a proud stepfather to LeNay, Heather, Rick, and Stacy, and he delighted in the growing family that followed, including his grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought immense joy into his later years.

Outside of work, Dan was a man of many interests. In earlier years, he and Debi enjoyed weekends traveling in their trailer or retreating to their beach house in Ocean Shores, Washington. These getaways-filled with clamming trips, gatherings by the water, and time spent with friends and family-became cherished traditions and lasting memories.

Dan also had a lifelong passion for hobbies that reflected his spirited personality. He loved collecting and shooting guns, building cars, and tinkering on projects in his shop. Of all these endeavors, he was especially proud of the El Camino he was building for Debi. His enthusiasm for cars and motorcycles was shared with his son in law, Nick, with whom he spent many years buying, selling, and restoring vehicles.

In recent years, Dan found great enjoyment in the simple pleasures of life-reloading bullets in his shop, relaxing in his man cave, and spending time with Nick and his grand dog, Shelby. These moments brought him peace, companionship, and fulfillment.

Dan is survived by his wife, Debi; his brother, David (Carolyn) Dorman; his children, Lenay McLeod, Heather (Dave) Partridge, Rick (Cambria) Magnett, and Stacy (Nick) Blackburn; his grandchildren, Laurel, Arrianna, Melanie, Michelle, Ashton, Madison, Taylor, Reid, and Alison; his great grandchildren, Izabella and Winsley; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Dan will be remembered for his sense of humor, his bold and unapologetic love of politics, and, above all, his fierce devotion to his family. He often spoke of how quickly time passes and never took for granted the moments spent with those he loved. His presence, laughter, and spirit will be deeply missed, and his legacy will live on through the memories he leaves behind.
