Danny Bruce Flener, Sr., affection known as Bruce, passed away peacefully at his home on June 24, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on September 6, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, Bruce lived a life dedicated to his family and his faith, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion.
Bruce had a successful career a Retired Pressman with Publisher's Printing. He was a respected member of his community, a member of in the Immanuel Baptist Church, where he shared his strong Christian values and contributed to the lives of others.
He is survived by his beloved sons, Jerry Flener (Carissa) and Teddy Flener (Christy), along with his cherished sisters, Adah Miller (Donnie) and Sherry Pearl. Bruce took great pride in his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy: T.J. Flener (Dawn), Danny Flener III, Cortnie McDonald (Michael), Jeremy Flener, Kristen Flener (Kyle), Justin Flener (Savannah), Shelby Cobble (Martin), Jerry Flener Jr. (Kyra), Becca Flener (Matthew), Noah Flener, Casel Billings (Bekah), Trenton Billings, Lydia Mejia (Carlos), Hayden Curtis, and Sarah Curtis. His family continued to grow with numerous great-grandchildren, including Camden, Cole, Brin, Blake, Kinley, Willow, Zeb, Wyatt, Carson, Silas, Penelope, Avianna, Bruno, Hayes, Dallas, Grayson, Blake, Mason, Tatum, Bailey, Benson, Paxton, Prestyn, K.J., and Kruz.
Bruce was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Flener; his son, Danny Bruce Flener, Jr.; his parents, Leo and Delphia Flener; and his brother, Larry Flener. Each of these individuals held a special place in his heart and will be greatly missed.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Bruce's life at Maraman Billings Funeral Home in Shepherdsville, KY. Visitation will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM; continuing on Sunday, June 29 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM; and on Monday, June 30 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A Funeral Service will follow the final visitation on Monday, June 30, beginning at 12:00 PM, with burial immediately afterward at Hebron Cemetery.
Bruce Flener's memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him, remembered as a loving family man and a steadfast Christian. His generosity and kindness have left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
