Danny Franklin Freeman, 72, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Tuesday morning, September 23, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born on July 24, 1953, to Paul and Louise Freeman, Danny grew up in Wichita Falls and graduated with the Hirschi High School Class of 1971, where he was active in auto mechanics. He began his career as a machinist at Wilsons Manufacturing until its closure in the mid-1970s. In the early 1980s, he worked as an electrician on the team that helped construct the Oklaunion Power Plant. Following that project, Danny joined Wichita Gear until it closed in the mid-1990s. He concluded his career as a machinist at Wichita Clutch, retiring in 2008.

Danny lived life with passion and humor. He loved racing cars, riding motorcycles, playing music, and bowling-where his natural talent shone. Known for his quick wit and contagious laugh, he was a humble, down-to-earth man who valued common sense, organization, and compassion for others.

Danny is survived by his wife, Rita; sons J.W., James, and Dean; daughters Wendy and Amy; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Louise Freeman, and his brothers, Larry and Jerry.

Danny and my dad, Ronnie, were great friends. Danny was always kind to me. In my younger years he was more like an uncle than just a family friend.
Condolences to the family.
