Danny Dave Gonzales, 59, of Lubbock ran into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, January 9, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of selfless service and profound kindness.
Born in Denton, Texas on September 14, 1965, Danny was the embodiment of humble generosity. As owner of Danny Gonzales-Farmers Insurance Agency, Agency Director at Liberty National, Operations Manager at Burlington, and everywhere else he worked in between, he was more than a businessman - he was a trusted friend and community connector.
Danny's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of almost 34 years, Cindy; his sons, Jeff McKinnon and wife Candyce and Josh McKinnon and wife Sarah, all of Lubbock; parents, Ruben and Mary Gonzales of Denton, Texas; siblings, Mark Gonzales of Shady Shores, Texas, Charles Gonzales and wife Cindy of Argyle, Texas, and Sandra Gonzales of Denton, Texas; six grandchildren, Kyler McKinnon, Colton McKinnon, Hannah McKinnon, Ben McKinnon, Sunshine Mathews, and Adalynn Bricker who adored their grandfather's wisdom, warmth, faith and presence; and a large extended family that will miss him dearly. Whether Danny was cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting or school events, coordinating snacks and clothing donations for hungry students, or helping other business owners overcome obstacles, his compassion knew no bounds.
A board member and faithful volunteer with The Found Mission, Danny had an overwhelming impact on their growth and connections with local Lubbock schools. Often with tears in his eyes, he told the stories of what God was doing in Lubbock and beyond through that ministry. Danny donated countless hours to community projects. He was known for his quiet acts of kindness - never wanting any recognition - and his deep faith.
Danny’s gentle spirit, unwavering integrity, and boundless empathy will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Combest Family Funeral Homes. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Trinity Church Chapel. Memorials may be made to The Found Mission, https://www.thefoundmission.com/donate.
