Danny Joe Harrell

Danny Joe Harrell, 63, of LaFontaine, Indiana, died at 2:39 pm, Monday, May 22, 2023, at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester. He was born on March 21, 1960, in Wabash, Indiana, to Charles Harrell and Marguerite "Maggie" (Sirk) Chaplin.
Danny was a 1978 graduate of Northfield High School. He married Donna Case in Wabash on June 9, 1995. Danny retired from the US Army Alpha Co. 1st Batallion 293D Infantry on April 1, 2000, after serving 21 years, and also worked at Owens-Corning in Wabash, since 2001. Danny was an avid pool player, and was a charter member of the Grant County Pocket Billiard Association. He also belonged to the Lagro American Legion Post 248 the past 39 years. He enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley, going on road trips, and attending rummage sales.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Harrell; and three children, Jeffrey Case, Tyler Harrell, and Samantha (Arthur) Carver, all of LaFontaine; one grandson Damian Cooper of Peru, Indiana; mother, Marguerite "Maggie" (Sirk) Chaplin of Wabash; and his brother, Harold (Faith) Chaplin Jr. of Wabash. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Harrell, brother, Terry Harrell, his sister Bonnie Harrell, and grandparents, Herman and Mary Harrell, and Carl and Marguerite Sirk.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Jake Andrews officiating. Burial will be in LaFontaine I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call 4-7 pm Friday, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Wabash County Cancer Society.
