The family of Danny Ray Havens of Bayside, Texas is saddened to announce his passing on December 12, 2025 at 67 years young. He was born on September 19th, 1958 in Refugio, Tx to Olen "Doc" Havens and Sallie Raye (Triplette) Havens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Harold Wayne, and sister Barbara.
Danny is lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Debbie, children Danny Ray (Krystal), Mark (Suzy), Danny III (Suzanne), and Andi (Mike), 9 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild, plus 2 sisters, Rosemary Picha (Gary) and Helen Martin (JC).
"Dan the Man", "Big D", "Pops", "Dad", "The Bayside Bandit", or even "Dan". No matter what name you used for him, everyone has a story to tell about him. It seems he lived a million different lives from running around Bayside, fishing, causing trouble to the family man, hard working, reliable, loving dad and supportive husband.
On any given day, there were a handful of places you could find him: working, out on the water fishing, or watching the Dallas Cowboys play some football. "This year will be their year."
If you had the chance to know him, even just for a short bit of time, you would consider yourself lucky. He always put others first and cared deeply. He wasn't always the most talkative, but he still managed to make everyone laugh. He loved so many people, but had a special place in his heart for his wife, Debbie. Not a lot of people could handle his day to day quirkiness, but he knew how loved he was by her. He did everything to provide for his family, and it is his hard-working quality that so many people know him by.
We know that he is up in heaven with his dog, Bella, feeding her treats and watching her with her ball.
We all have a story for Dan, and he will forever live by the stories we tell about him. Thank you all for the love and support you have shown over the years.
A viewing will be taking place on Wednesday, December 17th, 2025, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas, from 4 pm to 8 pm.
We will be hosting a Celebration of Life at 374 Mission River Oak Rd, Woodsboro, TX 78393 on Friday, December 19th, 2025, from 4 pm to 8 pm. If you have any Dallas Cowboys gear, feel free to wear it.
