Edward Bigner Obituary

Edward “Ed” Bigner, 79, of Odem, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025. Born on November 24, 1946, in Boston, Massachusetts, Edward spent his early years growing up in Harahan, Louisiana, before attending high school in Milton, Florida. Alongside his brothers, he proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his service, Edward earned his associate degree from Southwest Mississippi Community College and spent several years living in Mississippi before settling in Texas in the early 1980s. Texas would remain his home for the rest of his life. Edward first lived in Sweeny, Texas, later residing in Portland, Texas, and ultimately in Odem, where he spent the last 12 years of his life. Edward was a lifelong worker whose identity was rooted in dedication, discipline, and pride in his craft. He spent nearly 30 years with Bay Ltd., where he rose to the role of Project Engineer. He took immense pride in his work and in the company he represented. Even in the final weeks of his life, Edward remained committed to his responsibilities—continuing to rise early, determined to go to work. Edward was not a man of many words when it came to emotions, but he showed his love through action. He never asked for much, yet he was always willing to help—family, friends, coworkers, and even local youth sports teams. His generosity was quiet, steady, and sincere. Family meant everything to Edward. He was especially close with his brothers, sharing lifelong bonds over sports, conversation, and loyalty—particularly their shared love of LSU and college football. He is now reunited with his parents and brothers, whom he held close to his heart.

Edward is survived by his wife, Saeng Bigner; his five children, Tanya, Rene, Edward Jr., Spencer, and Jasmine; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held on December 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM for family and 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM for friends at 2003 W. Wheeler Ave., Aransas Pass, Texas. Funeral services will take place on December 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at the same location. Edward will be remembered as a hardworking man, a devoted provider, and someone whose strength spoke louder than words. His legacy lives on through the family he loved and the work ethic he passed down.
