Donald Ray Bigner Sr.

Donald Ray Bigner Sr., at the age of 56, passed away on January 1, 2026. He was born on June 27, 1969, in Independence, Louisiana to Elaine and Harry Bignar. For more than 20 years, Donald was the owner and operator of B&N Roofing. When he was not working, he enjoyed fishing and watching Nascar. Donald is already dearly missed by all that knew and loves him.

Donald is survived by his daughter, LaDonna Blount (Mark); son, Allen Bigner; mother, Elaine Gloria DeSouge; grandchildren, Gabriel Blount, LaTyran "Ray" Fuller, and Keagan Blount; sisters, Verna Naquin, Debra Strickland (Albert), Kathleen McKey (Paul), and Wanda Erdey (Joe); brothers, Edward Bigner Sr. (Rita) and Michael Bignar Sr. (Anna); mother of his children, Brenda Barnett; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald is preceded in death by his son, Donald Ray Bigner, Jr.; father, Harry "H.R." Bignar; brother, Harry "Allen" Bigner; wife, Kathy "NaNa" Bigner; maternal grandparents, Edna Alleman DeSouge and Vernon Frank DeSouge, and Ray Albert "Buddy" Graves; and paternal grandparents, Offie A. Achord and John Bignar.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home at 12012 Hwy 190 West Hammond, Louisiana from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. which will be officiated by Pastor Bradley Bennett. Interment will follow at Gatlin Cemetery.
