Danny Earl Morris, age 87, born on December 24, 1938, in Crockett County, TN, passed away on February 8, 2026. A dedicated man of farming, Danny was known for his integrity and firm belief in the importance of his word. He led a life enriched by his passions for hunting, fishing, and gardening, especially relishing in the joy of sharing his homegrown tomatoes with others. He was a member of Allen Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Morris officiating. Burial will follow at the Brownsville Memorial Gardens in Brownsville, TN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
Danny is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Edna Morris, of Brownsville, TN. He leaves behind a loving family, including his son, Michael Earl Morris of Brownsville, TN, and his daughters, Elizabeth Turner (Philip) of Mercer, TN, Donna Winchester (Dwight) of Brownsville, TN and Carolyn Barrett (Tunney) of Kenner, LA. His siblings include brothers Scottie Morris (Betty) of Brownsville, TN, Harold Morris of Jackson, TN, David Morris of Bells, TN, along with sisters Jeannette Brundige (Paul) of Memphis, TN, Mary Ann Archer (Ray) of Memphis, TN, Joan Taylor (Roy) of Bells, TN, Linda Mehr (Sam) of Nashville, TN, and Carolyn Haynes (Kenny) of Brownsville, TN.
Danny was a proud grandfather to three grandchildren, Kristy Fuqua of Jackson, TN, Brian Winchester (Erika) of Alamo, TN, and Tyler Winchester (Scarlett) of Brownsville, TN, and he cherished his five great-grandchildren: Riley, Karlyn, Blaine, Kenton, and Harper.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Foncie and Marguerite Pigue Morris, as well as his brothers Jerry Morris, Billy Morris, Frank Morris, and Jimmy Morris.
Pallbearers for the service will be Dale Morris, Berkley Cobb, Jerry Lynn Morris, Ken Taylor, Randall Morris and Zane Morris.
The family requests that memorials be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 31741. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
