Danny Oberman Obituary

Danny Oberman, 77, of Kahoka, Missouri, passed away Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

He was born Nov. 13, 1948, in Corydon, Iowa, the son of Bill and Faye McKee Oberman.

He graduated from Clark County High School with the class of 1967.

On Oct. 25, 1969, Danny married the love of his life, Beverly Raylene Fry, in a ceremony at her parents' home in Kahoka. They shared more than 55 years of marriage before Beverly preceded him in death on May 24, 2025.

Danny was employed at Stone Container in Keokuk for many years before the plant's closing. For over five decades, he and Beverly proudly owned and operated Oberman Jewelry and Gifts in Kahoka, where they enjoyed serving their community and building many lasting friendships.

He had a warm and easygoing personality and enjoyed any opportunity to be surrounded by the people he cared about. He especially loved a good card game, where his friendly competitiveness always came out.

Danny had a lifelong passion for cars-especially Fords, and most of all, Mustangs. He loved everything about them, from their design to the thrill of shifting through the gears, which always brought a smile to his face. He could often be found at local car races and car shows, taking in the sights and sounds, swapping stories, and visiting with fellow car enthusiasts.

He also enjoyed spending time on the water and loved going boating whenever he had the chance. Danny and Beverly shared many weekend trips together, enjoying the chance to explore, relax, and simply be with one another.

He is survived by his daughter Vergena Marie Oberman of Fort Madison; his son Darin Oberman (Chrissy) of Fort Madison; four grandchildren, Dakota Oberman (Katy), Cheyenne Stutes (Chase), Collin Campbell, and Reid Campbell; and three great-grandchildren, Jake Roberts, Elaina Oberman, and Carolynn Oberman. He is also survived by his brothers, Jim Oberman (Rhonda) of Hamilton, and Terry Oberman (Jean) of Kahoka; his sister-in-law, Teresa Barrows of Rolla; along with many extended family members and dear friends.

In addition to his wife, Danny was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers-in-law, Mark Fry and Gregg Barrows; and a nephew, Brian Oberman.

A graveside service celebrating Danny's life will be held in the spring, when family and friends can gather in the warmer weather to share stories, laughter, and memories of the man who meant so much to them.

Memorials may be made to the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Sending my condolences and prayers to Danny's family. Still fondly remember the Oberman jewelry store in Kahoka where I purchased my wife's engagement ring. May fond memories of Danny be in your hearts forever in knowing he now has eternal life.
