Danny Ray Russell, age 69, beloved husband of Rebecca Russell, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home.
Born on March 15, 1956, in Columbia, Tennessee, Danny was the son of the late Mahlon and Gethel Cates Russell. He married the love of his life, Rebecca Henderson, on April 17, 1975, and together they raised two daughters, Danielle and Amy.
He was a skilled and talented cabinet maker and served as a minister in Columbia and surrounding counties for ten years before retiring. A true outdoorsman at heart, he found great joy in hunting, fishing, and camping. One who put his love above everything, his kind heart and deep faith led him to help many through prayer and action, and he was active in Broken People Ministries.
Above all, Danny cherished his family. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Danielle Russell (Bruce Parsons) of Columbia, Amy Russell Battersby of Columbia, brother, Gary (Elaine) Russell of Chapel Hill, sisters, Peggy (Aubrey) Burch of Lewisburg, Tammy (John) Barron of Lewisburg, brother in law, Glenn Ricketts of Lawrenceburg, grandchildren, Morgan Campbell, Callum Graves, Summer (Matthew) Bushey, Alaina Graves, Lilly Parsons, and great grandchildren, Everson, Amelia, Kyomi, Damarius, Ryleigh, Carter, and Brindley Kate.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Ricketts and his best friend of thirty-five years, James Adams.
