Danny Soles

Danny Lem Soles, aged 72, a resident of Leander, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Cedar Park Hospital in Cedar Park, Texas, due to complications following surgery.
Born on October 26, 1951, in Eugene, Oregon, to parents D H Soles and Mary Potter, Danny spent the majority of his life in Texas. He completed his high school education in Divine, Texas, and enlisted in the Army at the age of 19. Serving primarily in Vietnam, he was honorably discharged in 1973, earning several commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Aircraft Crewman Badge, Expert Badge M16, and Vietnam Service Medal with 2 campaign stars.
Following a lengthy career in pest control, spanning from San Antonio to Jacksonville, Florida, and back to Austin, he retired in 2004. In retirement, he and his wife, Rachel Soles, devoted themselves to the VFW Post 10427 in Leander, Texas, where Danny held various positions, from Quarter Master to District Commander, and became a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.
In 2017, Danny played a pivotal role as a founding member of Community Blessing Outreach, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting those in need, including veterans, food pantries, meals on wheels, animal shelters, and fundraising efforts for individuals facing hardships.
Danny was loved as a husband, PePa, and friend. He cherished his wife, family, and the companionship of his beloved fur babies, Thelma and Louise. He found joy in playing golf and shuffleboard, relishing moments spent with friends at cherished haunts alongside his wife, Rachel... where Coors Lite for him and Dr. Pepper for on the rocks for Rachel, typically accompanied these gatherings. Despite his occasional stubbornness, Danny was passionate about helping others, and his heart overflowed with generosity and kindness.
Danny is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rachel Soles; step-sister Sharon Carr; two step-daughters, Randi Turner and Rhonda Wunderlin; son-in-law Tommy; grandchildren Nikolai, Sascha, Audrey, Angelique, Demetri, Neil and their families, including great-grandchildren Christina, Ava, Brielle, Zenith, and Violet.
A Message of Hope will be held at Beck Funeral Home, 1700 E. Whitestone Blvd, Cedar Park, TX, followed by a Celebration of Life at VFW Post #10427, 8760 Ranch Rd. 2243, Leander, TX.
