Danny Gene Spears, 71, of Sherwood, passed away Monday, May 13, 2024. He was born January 21, 1953 in Fordyce, Arkansas to the late Annie Mae Spears and Gene Spears. In addition to his parents, Danny is also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Sue Spears.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Sharon Davis Spears; daughter, Casey Spears; and sister, Tammie Lancaster (Ronan), and Brian Spears, who was like his own son.
His love for his "furr babies", River, May, Bailey, Murphy and Promise, was obvious to anyone that knew him. It has been said that he loved his pets more than some people. He always said they love you unconditionally and
expected nothing but love and care.
Danny was a Christian and believed that doing for others was part of his mission on this earth. He would do anything for others whether he knew them or not. When asked why, he would say, "That's what we are here for....to help others."
Danny started his career as an electrician in 1972 working at Union Pacific Railroad and went on to start his own business, Spears Electric. He coached his daughter, Casey in softball and basketball. He always hoped coaching was one way to help build character in the girls.
Most of all Danny hoped he would be remembered for his love of the Lord.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main Street) with a visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Danny’s name to CARE for Animals or the charity of your choice.
