Danny Tackett, 73, of Pampa, passed away on March 24, 2026, in Amarillo.
No services for Danny are planned at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Danny was born on September 1, 1952, in Pampa to J.C. and Betty Tackett. He grew up and finished school in Pampa. Following high school, Danny entered the oil & gas industry, a career that spanned several years and different states that included Texas, Arizona, Nevada, and California. Eventually, Danny would move back to Pampa to be with his family.
When Danny wasn’t working, he liked getting outside to fish and camp. However, most of all, he found the greatest joy being around and helping people whenever he could. Danny will be remembered as a loving and caring man who had a big heart for his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Diane Tackett; and a brother, Terry Tackett.
Danny is survived by two children, daughter, Jennifer Tackett, and son, Darrell Tackett and wife Sarah; grandchildren, Zach, Ryan, Bryar, and Dannielle; brother, Seth Tackett; aunt, Rose Tackett; niece, Melissa Hayden, and close family friend, Rene Sills; and other extended family.
