Danny Lee Wing Sr., 78, of Luther passed from this life to reunite with friends and family and collect his rewards in Heaven on May 4, 2025, in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born January 23,1947 to Merle and Maxine Wing in Marion, MI. He was called up to serve in the National Guard at age 18.
He was a minister of the gospel and pastored the Nazarene Church in Prague for seven years. He was a good dad and husband and role model for numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife Marcella and his extended family.
Danny was a talented musician and loved the ministry of music, playing the guitar, harmonica and keyboard on facebook, and in churches, nursing homes and gatherings.
He was also employed at Lucent Industries where he created designs for the Engineering Department while working on the assembly line. He also was employed at Western Electric and AT&T.
But family time came first in gatherings in the home that Danny built for his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and practicing his archery skills.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Maxine Wing, daughters Lisa Coleman and Becky Sides, brothers Paul, Dale and Donnie Wing; Sisters Eloise Kreml and Melody Wing and one great-grandchild Andon Wing.
He is survived by his wife Marcella; sons Danny Jr. and wife Amanda of Harrah and Donnie and wife Stephanie of Antlers; daughter Susie and husband Christopher Sparks of Midwest City and sister Yvonne Hatfield of Cadillac, MI; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends may call for visitation at Asa Smith Funeral Service, 2039 Tim Holt Drive in Harrah, on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 1 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at Choctaw Church of the Nazarene, 1100 Harper Street in Choctaw at 11 a.m. May 8, 2025, followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Choctaw.
