Danny Wood

Benson:  Mr. Danny Hugh Wood, age 65 of 1261 NC HWY 242 S. died Saturday at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.  Funeral Service will be 3:00PM Monday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson.  Officiating will be Rev. Ronnie Lafevers and Dr. Larry Withrow.  Burial will follow in GreenwoodCemetery in Dunn.    Mr. Wood was born June 29, 1949 inHarnettCounty to the late Isaac F. “I.F.” and Gladys Jones Wood.  Mr. Wood retired from FayettevilleTechnicalCommunity College as a machine shop instructor and was also a hay farmer.  Mr. Wood was a member of Holly Grove Advent Christian Church and attended Stones Creek Advent Christian Church.   Surviving are wife of 16 years, Marty Strickland Wood; son and daughter-in-law, Reid and Angie Wood of Dunn; daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Scott Creech of Four Oaks ; grandchildren, Ashton Wood, Anslee John Wood and Jackson Creech; sister and brother-in-law; Barbara W. and Mike Denning of Benson; nieces and spouses, Yorke and Thomas Johnson of Benson and Mary Michael and Jason Britt of Seven Springs; great-nieces, Lily and Charley Johnson of Benson. The family will receive friends 1:30PM to 2:45PM, Monday prior to the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
