Dano M. Dimke, aged 78, passed away peacefully in his home on February 5, 2025, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born on December 30, 1946, Dano, affectionately known as "party Marty," was often remembered for his infectious smile, deep voice, and his love for singing and dancing.
Dano served as a sniper in the Army during the Vietnam War, a testament to his bravery and dedication to his country. In his final months he was blessed to remain at home with help from his grandson Kalib, which he truly appreciated.
Surviving are his son Keith (Ellen) Dimke, daughter Mistyna Reiter, brother Monty (Joyce) Dimke, stepbrother Frank Miller, stepsister Ellie (Jack) Pasco, and brother/sister in laws, Stan (Nancy)Thompson, Karen and Terri Dimke. He was a loving uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
Dano was preceded in death by his wife Carol, children Adam and Charity Dimke, brothers Butch and Tracy Dimke, in-laws Jordan & Gloria Crocker, granddaughter Alexis, and his parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations be made to the American Legion, Post 409, a place Dano held near and dear.
