Dante Tascione Sr.

Dante Tascione, age 91, passed away peacefully in his home on October 27, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Carmela (Conti Bellocchi) Tascione and a loving father to Rita (Mario) Favacchia, Rosario, and Dante Jr. His legacy continues through his cherished granddaughters, Jessica and Carmelina. Dante was also known as a loving brother to the late Mario (Anna), the late Rodolfo, and the late Nicola, and he held a special place in his heart for Vincenza Bonanni. He is survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Dante was born on April 21, 1932, in Scerni (CH), Abruzzo, Italy, to his parents Panfilo Tascione and Rosaria Palmucci. He was the youngest of four brothers. In 1963, Dante embarked on a journey to the United States, settling in Rochester, New York, before making his home in Philadelphia, PA. It was in Philadelphia that he met the love of his life, Carmela, and they were joined in matrimony in 1964.
Dante's career was dedicated to the art of tailoring. He worked diligently in various Philadelphia clothing factories before venturing out to establish his own tailor shop in 1977. For over two decades, he single-handedly operated his business, mastering his craft, and earning the admiration of his customers.
Beyond his professional life, Dante found joy in simple pleasures. He had a deep passion for watching Italian television, particularly Italian soccer games, and he was an avid Philadelphia Flyers fan. He enjoyed friendly card games and the timeless sport of bocce. Yet, more than anything, Dante treasured moments spent with his family.
Dante's fondest memories were made during the family's summer vacations in Ocean City, New Jersey. He was at his happiest when walking along the beach, and watching the waves crash. Dante had a heartwarming affinity for the family's furr babies; Sophie, Talia, and Petey brought him immense joy. However, his greatest delight was playing and spending quality time with his granddaughters, Jessica and Carmelina, who were the light of his life.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Dante's life and pay their respects at his viewing on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Richard Church, located at 3010 S 18th St. A Mass in his memory will commence at 10:30 AM, followed by his interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
Dante Tascione will forever be remembered for his unwavering love, his devotion to family, and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal peace, with his beloved Carmela by his side, and may his memory live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
