Daphne Taylor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bullis Mortuary on Jan. 5, 2026.
Daphne Lee Taylor, na"ko'nae'e (Bear Doctor Woman) was born on September 1, 1970, in Crow Agency, Montana, to Kenneth and Florene Taylor. She grew up in Busby, Montana, and attended school in Hardin and Busby, where she formed lifelong friendships and memories that stayed with her throughout her life. Daphne later made her home in Portland, Oregon, where she passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2025.

Daphne was kind, strong, fun, and outgoing, with a vibrant spirit and a heart that welcomed everyone. She had a natural ability to make people feel loved and supported and lived her life putting others before herself. Her greatest joy came from her family-her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, nieces, and nephews were the center of her world, and she loved them deeply and fiercely.

She had a passion for helping others and lived her life guided by a strong and unwavering faith. Daphne was a proud member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe, and her culture, values, and strength were deeply rooted in who she was and how she lived. Her faith and heritage shaped her compassion, resilience, and the way she cared for those around her. She loved the Lord deeply, and at a very young age, she shared with her mother that she had seen Jesus-an experience that reflected the depth of her faith throughout her life.

Daphne was married to Jason Fisher, and from this union, she was blessed with one daughter. She later remarried Ramon Godinez, and together they had three sons. No matter where life took her, Daphne remained devoted to her children and family, always offering love, guidance, and support. She eventually built a life in Portland, Oregon, where she continued to nurture her family and extend kindness to her community.

Daphne is lovingly survived by her children: Nicole (Nick), Brendan, Jose, and Gonzalo (Tova); her grandchildren: Merasia (Sterling), Merlin, Justus, Zacchaeus, Rohen, Carmen, K'llel, Shoreigh, Lariah, Hailey, Rory, Amar'e, Carter, Marvyn, O'shea, and Leviath; and her cherished great-grandchild, Sterling II.

She is also survived by her brothers: Donovan (Mae), Mikee, Lafe (Lujuana), Ronald (Mary), Yoyo (Lola), James (Sharon), Monte, and Tommy; her sisters: Shannon (Robert), Shawna, Rachel, and Shasta; and her nieces: Aaliyah (Marty), Chantae, Danika, Mikayla, Alejandra, Haven, Larena, and Keyonna. She leaves behind her nephews: Dean, Jarret, Michael, Chad, Ethan, Darius, Tavian, Rikee, Mikee, and Taye. She is also survived by her aunts: Diane McClean, Darlene, Jeanie, Caroline, Gerry, Jermaine, Jeromena, and Jeri; special uncles Dean Rondeau, Marvin, Larry, and Jimmy; as well as many extended family members from the Beartusk, Pine Warrior, Pine, Risingsun, Bixby, Hoops, Realbird, Williamson, Freeman, McLean, Strangeowl, Haugen, Foote, Curley, Ryan, Bearchum, Killsnight, Wolf Black, Red Fox, Red Cherries, Whitemoon, Fox, Red Neck, Big Back, Morning, Half, Moccasin, Medicine Tail, Birdhat, and Eastman families, along with countless friends and extended family not mentioned whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Florene Taylor; her sisters, Troylynn Taylor and Tonyell Hernandez; her brother, Lonnie Taylor; her nieces, Stephannie and Tyrae; her aunts, Ethelene Killsnight, Alice Risingsun, Irma Jean Hoops, Dolly Rockroads, Jeanie Strangeowl, and Audrey Haugen; and her uncles, Logan Curley Sr., Tex Curley, and Leonard Wolfblack.

Daphne's love, faith, and strength live on through the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. We apologize if we have unintentionally omitted anyone during this difficult time of grief. Thank you to everyone for your love, prayers, and support.
