Dara Lynn Moore

July 14, 1961-November 10, 2025

A loving mother, wife, homemaker, agriculturalist, a dedicated follower of Christ, and a member of the Animas Valley, Dara Lynn Moore, 64, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025 in her home in Animas, New Mexico. Dara was born July 14, 1961, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, the third child to Donald MaCaw and Nita Frost.

From a young age, Dara learned the importance of hard work and perseverance. She loved spending time with her two brothers at her grandparents' farm and ranch, where she gained an appreciation for the land, animals, and hard work. She attended several different schools while growing up, always maintaining good grades and excelling in her extracurricular activities, as well being an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Dara attended Phoenix Community College where she obtained her Associates Degree and was an avid, competitive softball player. On January 22, 1987, Dara married Houston Wayne Moore in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Soon after the couple were blessed with their first daughter Cammi Nicole, and were beckoned back home to Animas. Dara always loved the quaint, humble living of the Animas Valley, and cherished the lifelong friendships she made. Wayne and Dara were again blessed with their second daughter, Chea Lynn and later to follow, a son Channing Dale-Wayne. On November 22, 2003 the Moore family were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Dara held many titles in life, but her favorite and most cherished title was being a mother. Her life revolved around her three children. There was not an event that she was not at to support them. Dara was extremely active in the church, where she held many callings and was always so willing to serve others. She worked at the Diamond A for 12 years, where she was dedicated to her work and always made it a goal for all she was around to feel welcome and appreciated. Dara was an excellent homemaker; her home was always well kept; meals were never missed and laundry always clean and folded. Above all Dara was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She adored her quality family time spent with her children and grandchildren. Dara was a humble and thrifty woman, who always put others and their needs before her own. She spent numerous hours preparing family home evenings activities, where she loved teaching her children the principles of the gospel, her famous saying was, "No Empty Seats." She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her love for and trust in the Savior was evident throughout her life. Dara is the definition of a warrior; full of strength, courage and above all a love and unwavering testimony of Christ. She fought hard for 11 years with her cancer battle. Dara's favorite scripture was Jeremiah 29:11 NIV, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Dara's life was a testament of her faith; may she be remembered for her valiant testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ, love for her family, and service to all she met.

Dara is preceded in death by her brother, Carl MaCaw. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Moore of Animas; her children, Cammi Moore, Chea (Tyler) Belt and Channing Moore; her grandchildren Olivia and Jameson Belt.

The Funeral Services for Dara will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Animas, New Mexico at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The Final Interment and Dedication of the Grave will follow at the Virden Cemetery.

Receiving the honor to serve as Dara's pallbearers will be Channing Moore, Tyler Belt, Brian Frost, Gail Frost, Karin Frost-Madrid, Brenda Simpson, and Leslie MaCaw.

"The Influence of a mother and grandmother is beyond calculation." Until we meet again.
