Darcus Murray, 97

Darcus Eugenia Murray, 97, of Bostic, died Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

She was the daughter of the late Gaston and Maggie Green Murray. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rose Lee Murray Vickers; two great grandchildren, Travis Scott Vickers and Kristi Lynn Vickers; four of her sisters, Viola Street, Lottie Baynard, Florence Hoyle, and Cleo Splawn; and her brothers, Alvro Murray, Horace Murray, Junior Murray, Willard Murray, Monroe Murray, and Robert Murray. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and worked at Broyhill for many years. 

She is survived by her sister, Zaciena Murray of Shelby; her son-in-law, Joseph "Joe" Vickers, Jr.; three grandchildren, Michele Arwood and her husband Travis, Tim Vickers, and Dale Vickers and his wife Kelly; there are 5 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren. 

The Funeral will be conducted at 1:00 pm Friday, January 30, 2026 at Mountain View Baptist Church. The Rev. Wayne Toney and Rev. Hubert Street will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Richard Vickers, Tim Vickers, Travis Arwood, Tanner Vickers, Kristopher Arwood, and Steve Duncan. 

The Visitation will be from 11:45 am until 12:45 pm Friday at the church prior to the service.
