Darcy "Darman" DeFabio
Darcy passed away peacefully at home with her loving family and dearest friends at her bedside. She unrelentingly battled cancer for 3+ years until succumbing to the "Demon" on April 22, 2024. She was a hospice client since April 1, 2024. And not once did Darcy complain.
She is survived by sons Dylan and Isaac DeFabio; father and mother Rich and Mary Richards; brother Jason (Erin)Richards; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; sister and brother in-laws; the love of her life, Devan Sherwood; her best friend Laura; several close friends from grammar school and high school; her 1 year old Saint Charles Cavalier Spaniel, "Pizza".
She is preceded in death by her husband Kevin A DeFabio in 2012; grandparents Patricia and Dick Richards; Alvin and Mildred Lenz.
Darcy graduated from Cosmetology School before graduating high school and was a stylist; she worked hard and had a good work ethic as a server/bartender for 20yrs; most recently worked as a dispatcher for the Delivery Service Provider for Amazon up to less than one month before passing.
She had a love for music and camping; spending time with her family and friends. She loved the ocean and sea turtles. She raised 2 "admirable young men". She loved and lived life to its fullest on " borrowed time".
Darcy was able to reach one last goal recently by traveling to southern Il to view the solar eclipse with family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations suggested in Darcy's name to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
