Darin Scott Engle, 54, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 24, 2024.
He was born September 13, 1969 in Johnson City, TN.
He came to Florida in 1987 after graduating from Unicoi County High School in Erwin, TN.
He is predeceased by his late wife, Tracey Lucas Engle of Brooksville, FL.
He is survived by his wife, Melanie Engle; daughter, Danielle Engle; son, Derek Engle; daughter, Madison Engle all of Spring Hill; his parents, CH and Fanny Engle of Brooksville; his brother, Stacy Engle and his wife, Sherry of
Johnson City, TN; niece, Amber Engle of Erwin, TN; loving family and friends.
Darin grew up in Erwin, TN. in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains. As a child, Darin loved playing in the woods and at the river. He frequently went camping with family or friends. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and had a love for cars. He also helped out at the family restaurant, Engle's Roadside Rest. He played baseball and football throughout his childhood. In additon to his athletic side, Darin was an artist. He would draw and paint throughout his life. He also had the talent of hearing a song and playing it on the piano without any formal training. He had a gift for writing. His most meaningful gestures were writing poems for his loved ones. Sharing this gift was one of the ways he showed his love to his family.
As an adult he took pride in being a leader and provider for his family. He had an extraordinary work ethic, working 35 years along side of his parents, CH and Fanny Engle as owners of Engle's Quick Shop, they were dedicated to serving the Brooksville community. Darin also owned Hernando Gas providing propane to the county. His greatest joy was making memories with his family. There were frequent trips back home to the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. He would golf often, or go to the shooting range with friends.
Above all, his love for the Lord our Savior was the guide for everything he was and ever wanted to be. He shared with his family that the most important thing he wanted to be remembered for was to be the best example of what a Christian should embody. No matter what life threw at him he always looked to God for comfort and guidance. His trust in God got him through every difficult situation. He made sure to pass that faith onto his children with a simple yet effective reminder, God is always in control, and should be glorified through the blessings and the challenges.
Not only was he a Christian, he was a wonderful example of what a man should be; a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and loyal friend.
He will be missed beyond measure. Forever amazed by you.
