Dario Raveane

Dario Raveane, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who held key positions at Detroit-area printing companies, died March 9, 2026. The New Baltimore, Michigan resident was 96.

Dario is survived by daughters Linda and Lorene Raveane (George) and son Joseph Raveane (Gayle); grandchildren Joseph Kundrick, Adam Kundrick (Malarey), Bryan Mruk (Rachel) and Jesse Menendez (Jaclyn); and great-grandchildren Jameson Kundrick and Josephine Menendez.

Dario was married to his high school sweetheart, Dolores, for 59 years. Known as "Tiny" to relatives and friends, Dolores (née Gottage) died in 2011.

Born in Detroit Oct. 4, 1929, Dario was the youngest son of Italian immigrants Joseph and Angela Raveane. Dario was predeceased by his parents and brothers Dino and Derno.

During the Great Depression, the elder Joseph Raveane along with his wife and Dario - still a toddler - moved to California where he worked in various gold mining camps. Later in the 1930s, Dario and his mother relocated to Italy for more than a year, joining older brothers Dino and Derno in their native hometown Feltre.

After returning to the United States, Dario attended public schools in Detroit and, like his brothers, completed technical training at Henry Ford Trade School. He served stateside in the United States Air Force during the Korean War at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina where he helped establish and lead a printing shop, achieving the rank of technical sergeant. While still on active duty, he married Dolores Gottage in 1952 and lived in nearby Fort Sumpter. Dario was honorably discharged in 1955.

After his military service, Dario and Dolores Raveane moved to Detroit and then to St. Clair Shores where they raised their three children.

Building on his experience in the Air Force, Dario continued his career in printing, working mostly in sales at Detroit-area companies. After decades at various companies including Rotary Manifold Forms in Detroit, Uforma Business Systems in Roseville and Design Business Systems in Warren, Dario founded his own company, Midwest Business Systems.

Funeral services were private.
