SMITH, Dorothy Margaret "Dotty". March 27, 2026. Age 84. Beloved wife of Robert "Bob" for 58 cherished years. Loving mother of Chuck Smith (Kristin), Aaron Smith (Autumn), and Catherine Gray (David). Proud and loving grandmother of Robert, Lily, Reilly, Sean, Matthew, Elaina, Dominic, Cameron, and Elizabeth. Dear sister of Robert Dow (the late Nelly) and the late Kathleen Rafferty (Dennis). Dotty was a longtime active parishioner for more than 30 years at St. Hubert Catholic Church in Harrison Township where she enjoyed serving as a eucharistic minister as well as by doing hospital and senior center visitations. She was also a volunteer English teacher at the Clinton-Macomb Public Library. Dotty worked as a legal secretary in downtown Detroit in her younger years and loved to spend time with her family. Since 2014 she loved to walk the Mackinac Bridge on Labor Day alongside her husband and many others. Memorial visitation Thursday, April 9th from 3-7pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc., 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile), Sterling Heights. A memorial Mass will be said at 11am on Friday, April 10th at St. Hubert Catholic Church, 38775 Prentiss, Harrison Township. The family will receive guests in the church beginning at 10:30am. Dotty will be inurned at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly at a later date. Memorial contributions to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry at St. Hubert Catholic Church are appreciated.
