Darla was born on September 17, 1941 in Sioux Falls, SD, the daughter of Loyal "Jim" and Helen (Scherff) Partridge. She grew up, attended school in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School in 1959. She married Raymond Jensen on January 14, 1961 in Sioux Falls. They made their home on a farm northeast of Dell Rapids. Darla helped Ray on the farm for many years and kept books for their trucking company. Darla and Raymond were also members of the Pork Producers Association. Darla also had extensive hours helping with their hogs. She then worked for Kelly's Flowers before purchasing the flower shop and renaming it, Dar's Flowers of Sunshine. She continued to run the flower shop until her retirement. Raymond passed away on September 11, 2014. Darla continued to live on the farm.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for 12 years and helped with the Bible Camp. Her and Raymond also hosted two foreign exchange students. Darla barrel raced, liked attending horse shows, loved dogs and horses, found enjoyment in coloring, putting puzzles together, watching movies with her grand-daughters, playing Bridge with her close friends, bowling league, mowing and taking care of her flower garden.

Darla was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Donnie and Dale, her husband Raymond, her daughter, Julie, her niece, Dora and her nephew, Donavon.

She is survived by her sons, Scott (Lisa) Jensen of Dell Rapids and Jim (Tracy) Jensen of Trent; her grandchildren, Jeffrey (Tylene) Schwebach, Rachael (Larry) Weissenburger, Mitch (Rachel) Packard, Lacie Packard (Casey), Justin Jensen, Randy (Jessica) Hewitt, Rick (Kate) Hewitt, Hannah Jensen and Addysen Jensen; her 12 great-grandchildren and her extended family.
