Darlene Bargmann Obituary
Darlene Claire Mendell Bargmann passed away at 93 years of age on June 30th, 2024. Darlene was a loving mother to her children, Michael Bargmann (Sue), Vicki Paine (Phil), and Elizabeth Bauld. She was a cherished grandmother to Kelly Weiner (Jon), Melissa Bamford (Tim), Jeff Bargmann, Tiffany Paine-Cirrincione (Steve), Hillary Paine Hopkins (Matt), Christopher Bauld, Amanda Bauld, and Chelsea Bauld. And a proud great-grandmother to her seven great-grandchildren.
Darlene moved to Rochester from Queens, NY, with her mother as a child. She was the last surviving child of her eight siblings. She spent 45 years working as a foster mother, providing a home and love to over one hundred children in the Monroe County area. She was often asked to take on the most complex cases due to her vast knowledge and experience.
Darlene lived her faith daily and was a pillar to her family and many others in her community. She advocated for at-risk youth in court and with local legislators and was not shy about voicing her concerns to support those less fortunate. The love she gave and the hand she played in the lives of children in our area are immeasurable.
She will be dearly missed and remembered by many.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to the Center for Youth( 905 Monroe Avenue, Rochester NY 14620) and/or Anchor Baptist Church (518 North Greece Road, Hilton NY 14468).
Memorial service information will be forthcoming.

I met Darlene as she was foster mother to my two sons, Steven and Michael (Buddy). Steven was 3 years old at the time and Michael was a year old. They were very close with Liz and missed her terribly when they left Darlene's home to move into mine
Steven is now 44 years old and Michael is 42 and they are both doing wonderful to this day. They have never forgotten about Darlene and they remembered we went back to visit her a few years after their adoption. I can say Darlene was an absolute angel on this Earth. She was the best mother possible and I thank God for her everyday..

Mrs. Bargmann was fantastic mother to my best friend, Liz. I remember visiting their house in the summers and staying for a week at a time. I was always welcomed and felt like part of the family! My condolences to the whole family. A beautiful soul has been welcomed in to heaven.

Oh, Mrs. Bargmann. You lived a long life with a caring family. I loved having sleepovers as a kid at your house. Hopefully we weren´t too much trouble. Rest in Peace.
