LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Margaret "Darlene" Costner Beam, age 84, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2025. She was born April 18, 1941, in Shelby, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Hubert "Paw" Costner and the late Ruth McMahon "Maw" Costner and was the loving wife of the late Fred U. Beam. Darlene loved the Lord with all her heart; God was first in everything she did. Denomination was never a concern for her, she loved everyone. Her late brother, Bob, pastored at Lighthouse Pentecostal in Fort Mill, SC. Darlene's only wish was that everyone would accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior so that she could spend eternity with them in Heaven. Although she was not a member, when she was able, she attended Freedom Freewill Baptist Church. Darlene enjoyed shopping and getting her hair and nails done.

Mrs. Beam is survived by her three children, Stacy Beam (Becky), Crystal Funderburk, and Angie Allon (Jerry); and many loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred U. Beam; her parents, Hubert and Ruth Costner; her brother, Bob Costner; and her sister, Francis Wease.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mrs. Beam will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Mitch Ingram.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, the family has requested that a Bible be purchased and given to someone.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should no perish but have eternal life." John 3:16.
