Darlene Daniels, age 78 of Stewartville, formerly of Chatfield, passed away on September 16, 2025 at the Chosen Valley Care Center surrounded by her family.
Darlene Marie was born on May 17, 1947 the daughter of Palmer and Ruth (nee Anderson) Thompson in Rochester, MN. She attended school in Chatfield, graduating from the Chatfield High School in 1965. She attended Rochester Junior College following her graduation. She married her high school sweetheart, William "Bill" Daniels on September 16, 1967 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chatfield. The couple lived and raised their three sons in the Chatfield area. She worked as a secretary and accountant for the Kahler Corporation for over 30 years before putting in another ten years at the Fillmore County Courthouse. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Womens Group. She loved antiquing, gardening and playing cards. She enjoyed traveling with her family and loved a good Friday night fish fry. Her favorite thing to do was attend her grandchildren's sporting events.
Darlene will be missed by her husband of 58 years Bill Daniels, her sons and daughters-in-law Scott (Jennifer Bessingpas) Daniels, Stephen (Stephanie) Daniels, Adam (Jodie) Daniels and grandchildren Dustin Daniels, Charity (Hunter) Brommerich, Aryn Daniels, Lauryn Daniels, Kyle Daniels, Aubrey Daniels, Grant Daniels and Quentin Daniels. She is further survived by her brother Don (Beth) Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her parents Palmer and Ruth Thompson and her in-laws Merrill and Elizabeth Daniels.
A celebration of Darlene's life will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Chatfield Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Hauschild officiating.
There will be an hour of visitation at the church one hour prior to services.
A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow the services at the church.
