Darlene Ensley Obituary
Our hearts are shattered, yet filled with profound love and cherished memories, as we announce the peaceful passing of Darlene Coberly Ensley, our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, on July 27th, 2025, just shy of her 66th birthday. Darlene left this world gently, leaving behind an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who knew her tender spirit.
Born October 27th, 1959, to William and Lola Coberly, Darlene carried within her a quiet strength and a deep capacity for love throughout her life. She navigated profound sorrow, having been preceded in death not only by her cherished parents but also by her devoted husband, David Ensley, her precious son, Zeke Ensley, and her dear nephew, Forrest White. The losses she endured shaped her resilience, yet never extinguished the warmth and kindness that were her essence.
Darlene's greatest joys were found in the quiet moments and the bonds of family. She is survived by her loving sister and steadfast companion, Karen White (Dan), who shared a lifetime of memories and sisterly love. Her legacy continues through her devoted son, Zachary Ensley (Jodie), whose love was her anchor; her caring stepdaughter, Megan Powell (Mike); and her cherished nephew, Hunter White. The light of her life shone brightest when surrounded by her adored grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Lincoln Ensley, Teddy Ensley, Gage Powell, AmraRose Powell, and Nova Holland. Their "Grandma" held them in her heart with boundless affection, a love that will forever be their inheritance.
A tender heart extended to all creatures, Darlene found particular solace and companionship in her feline friends. Her beloved cat, Cocoa, remains a gentle reminder of her nurturing spirit and the quiet comfort she offered and received. Darlene's presence was a quiet sanctuary. She possessed a gentle grace, a comforting presence, and a love that was felt deeply, even in silence. She didn't need grand gestures; her love was woven into the fabric of everyday moments – a shared smile, a listening ear, the simple act of caring. Her memory is a tapestry of quiet strength, unwavering love for her family, and the soft purr of a contented cat by her side.
The family extends their deepest, heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate teams at Riverside Hospital and Riverside Hospice. Your exceptional care, kindness, and unwavering support provided comfort and dignity to Darlene and profound solace to her family during her final journey. Your humanity made an immeasurable difference.
A service to celebrate Darlene's beautiful life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends time to gather and honor her memory fully.
While our grief is deep, the love Darlene gave so freely remains our enduring comfort. She taught us the power of quiet devotion and the strength found in family bonds. Darlene will be forever remembered, forever cherished, and forever loved. Her gentle spirit leaves an indelible mark on our souls.
