She was born on October 10, 1960 in Dallas, Georgia to Mr. Charles Ernest Newman, Sr. and Mrs. Mildred Elizabeth Elsberry Newman. She worked for Marietta Drapery for many years. Darlene was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Dwayne Timothy Newman.
Darlene is survived by her son, Jason Griffin (Robert Kendrick); granddaughter, Gracie Griffin; brother, Charles Ernest Newman (Stephanie); sister, Gail Moore (Ken); brother, Sammy Brian Newman (Kathy); sister, Judy Ann Hamby (Mike); brother, Walter Michael Newman (Nancy); sister, Kay Delores Smith (Gary); several nieces and nephews; special friend, Sara Cavorley; other extended family and friends.
Memorial Services for Ms. Darlene will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 2 P.M. at Benson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until the time of the service at 2 P.M.
