Darlene Joyce (Drake) Hackett, 89, of Sevierville, Tennessee formerly of the Taylor, Nebraska area passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, at the Smoky Mountain Post-Acute and Rehabilitation Center in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Darlene Joyce (Drake) Hackett was born near Arcadia, Nebraska on June 16, 1934, to Glenn Eliot and Thelma Elice (Piatt) Drake.
Following graduation from Arcadia High School Darlene worked at Ramsey Drug Store until marrying Jack L. Myers on June 30, 1954. To this union 5 children were born.
They lived in Wyoming and later moved to Missouri where Jack passed away in 1975. Darlene married Robert Zentz in 1989, he passed away of cancer in 1994. She later married Raymond Lee Hackett in 2001, and he passed away in 2012.
Darlene made her home in Taylor from 2001 until 2014, when she moved to Michigan to be closer to her daughter and family. In 2020, they relocated to Tennessee where Darlene made her home until her passing.
Darlene was a member of the Assembly of God Church and enjoyed all of the church activities. She loved working with the flowers in her yard, raising a garden; and managing the food pantry in Taylor.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Mae and David Jiral of Tennessee; two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Jerome and Jaquie Myers of California, and Ronald Dean Myers of Taylor, Nebraska; nine grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Jack, Robert and Raymond; an infant son, David Lee (14 months); and son, Dennis Ray (19 years); and two brothers, Dale and Keith Drake.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 20224; at Still Waters Funeral Parlor in Burwell, Nebraska; Pastor Jen Busch will officiate. Burial will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery at Burwell. Visitation will be held on Monday beginning at 9:30 a.m. until service time.
Memorials are suggested to the Taylor Food Pantry.
