Darlene V. Kraut, age 82 of Oshkosh, passed away at the Residence At Oshkosh on Saturday, November 23, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 30, 1942 to the late Hilbert and Gordis (La More) Eichmann. Darlene married Kurt Kraut and had four children.
Darlene dedicated many years to working in the food service industry, starting at the University of Oshkosh-Reeve Hall and later at Webster Stanley Elementary School. She found joy in serving others and made many lasting connections through her work.
Her spirit was nourished by her faith, with a journey that saw her worshipping at various Lutheran churches in the community. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul and finding joy in giving back to those in need.
In her leisure time, Darlene treasured moments with her loved ones, solving word searches, and piecing together jigsaw puzzles. However, nothing brought her more joy than sharing a laugh during happy hour with her children, savoring her favorite drink, a gin and tonic.
Darlene is survived by her children, Kathy Lemerande, Brian Kraut and Brad Kraut; stepson, Gary Kraut; grandchildren, Daniel Phillips, Michael Lemerande and Rebecca (Cody) Bobholz; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Allison, Carter, Jackson, Josie and a baby on the way; siblings, Dennis (Carol) Eichman, Dale (Jean) Eichman, Delores Eichman (Jim) and Dean Eichman. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Kurt Kraut; infant son, Todd; stepsons, Ricky Kraut and Randy Kraut; infant great-grandchild; infant sister, Gertrude.
