Darlene Francis Allison Pate, 78, of Creedmoor, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 16, 2026. She is now walking the streets of gold in her heavenly home, praising Jesus and enjoying the company of family and friends who have gone before her.

Mrs. Pate was born in Durham on March 26, 1947, to the late Victor Eugene and Luberne Gilbert Allison. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pate is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Pate and brother, Larry Allison.

Mrs. Pate is survived by her daughter, Lori Pate Bowen of Creedmoor; brothers Reverend Greg Allison and his wife, Gail, of Raleigh, and David Allison of Butner; grandchildren Jason Bowen, and Mark Bowen and his wife, Christyn; and a great-grandson expected soon Charlie Bowen.

Mrs. Pate was a devoted Sunday School Teacher and church pianist for much of her adult life. She spoke at various ladies’ conferences over the years. She was a prayer warrior.

She loved her family dearly and was a generous, sweet, kind, compassionate, and caring lady. She was the best mother in the world and loving grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to so many. She was a blessing to everyone who knew her.

She loved flowers and enjoyed God’s creation, especially the beach.

Mrs. Pate retired as a Deputy Clerk after 20 years of service with the Durham County Clerk of Superior Court’s Office. During her time there, she was presented with an award recognizing 14 years of dedicated service for leading a weekly prayer group in an empty courtroom during coworkers’ lunch breaks on Wednesdays.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday January 21, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. at the church. Officiating will be Reverend Greg Allison and Reverend Jimmy Hall. Interment will follow at South Granville Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jason Bowen, Mark Bowen, Chris Campbell, Cole Campbell, Charlie Kearney, and Paul Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lenny Weaver, Harold Richard and Tom Walker.

Flowers are acceptable, or donations can be made to Bible Baptist Church, 2047 Gate 2 Rd, Creedmoor, NC 27522.
