Darold Mullin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Funeral Alternatives of Washington - Tumwater on Jan. 22, 2026.
Darold H. "PeeWee" Mullin, 76, of Washington, passed away on January 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, resilience, and devotion to his family.Born and raised in Scott Valley, California, Darold grew up alongside his parents and older sister in the rugged beauty of Northern California.

It was in elementary school that he first met Elizabeth, who would become his lifelong companion. They met on a school bus packed with 9-year-olds, where he was instantly smitten. He proceeded to follow her from seat to seat until she finally surrendered and agreed to talk with him, thus beginning a friendship that would last a lifetime.

Though Elizabeth's family moved away, fate brought them back together in their early twenties, and they married soon after. Darold lovingly adopted Elizabeth's eleven-month-old daughter, Andrea, embracing fatherhood with characteristic determination and heart.

Darold spent his career in the logging industry, where his high energy and compact stature earned him the affectionate nickname "PeeWee." He became legendary among his peers for his ability to operate any piece of machinery put before him, mastering each with skill and confidence. His years in the woods were marked by both danger and triumph-he survived multiple chainsaw accidents and, remarkably, kept all his limbs intact, a testament to his toughness and perhaps a bit of luck.

In the early 1970s, Darold moved his family to Washington State, where he would remain for the rest of his life. He worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for his family, and his greatest pride was seeing his daughter Andrea earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her achievement stood as a reflection of the foundation he built through years of sacrifice and dedication.

Darold is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth; his daughter, Andrea; son-in-law, Dave; grandsons Jordan and his spouse Lynndsay, Alec, and Cameron and his spouse Naomi-Lynn, three great-grandchildren, his sister Kathryn and many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him.
