Darold Ostendorf, 78, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died February 21, 2024 in Gothenburg, Nebraska.
He was born July 12, 1945 in Gothenburg, Nebraska, son of Cobus Ostendorf and Roberta (Kaylor) Trimble.
He was a member of Zion and American Lutheran Church. Darold grew up in the Gothenburg area, where he loved bowling, fishing and later in life he started playing the guitar and singing for nursing homes and dances. He loved playing pitch with his family.
Survivors include his daughter, Chantelle (Neil) Krepcik, of Gothenburg, three sons, Darold Jr. "Butch" Ostendorf, Kevin (Sara) Ostendorf of McCook, Curtis (Beth) Ostendorf of Gothenburg; three brothers, Doug (Nan), Leroy, Robert (JoAnn) Ostendorf, all of Gothenburg; four sisters, Darlene Underwood of Gothenburg, Diane Kildare of Lincoln, Angela Ostendorf of Amherst, Lois (Steve) Hinman of Cozad; grandkids, Necole Miller, Lyndee Koch, Brittany Jesseph, Andrew Ostendorf, Kayla Ostendorf, Ryan Ostendorf, Ross Ostendorf, and Riley Ostendorf; and special friend Judy Smith of Gothenburg.
Darold was preceded in death by father, Cobus Ostendorf, mother, Roberta (Kaylor)Trimble, brothers, Lawrence, Ronald and Gene Ostendorf.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 10th St, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Sunday, February 25, 2024, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. with the family present.
Services will be held at American Lutheran Church, 1512 Ave G, Gothenburg, NE, Monday, February 26, 2024 at 10:30 am with Pastor Doug Hjelmstad officiating.
Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery.
