Darrel Lynn Fricke, 64, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on November 15, 2011, at his home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bismarck with Rev. Steve Sathre officiating. Burial will be at Baldwin Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 - 8:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, and will continue on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Darrel "Buck" was born on February 13, 1947, to Lee and Louise (Engelmann) Fricke in Baldwin, ND. He was a farmer and dairyman in Baldwin until he moved to Boise, ID, in 1991. In Boise, he worked for Earth Energy Inc. as a directional drill operator and foreman. Many people that worked with Darrel always said "Buck could drill anything!" Darrel loved his music, most of all Jim Reeves and Don Williams, and many, many more. His favorite pastimes were spent watching Nascar, drag racing, the Vikings and Boise State Football, or just relaxing to a good old western movie. Darrel was a life-long Dodge man and his prize possession was his '04 Cummings Turbo Diesel Ram 2500 truck. But more than anything, he loved his children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Darrel is survived by his mother, Louise Fricke of Bismarck; his children, Crystal Hoiland (James Erhardt) of Brookings, SD, Chad Fricke (Lety Grisham) of Boise, ID, Sarah Weiser and Luke Weiser, of Boise, ID, and Robyn (James) Jacobson of Almont, ND; his grandchildren, Amber and Ostyn Hoiland, Bianca Weiser, and Sophia Erhardt; his sisters, Kathy (Al) Jahner of Santa Fe, NM, and Judy Hoge of Boise, ID; his brother, Randy (Cindy) Fricke of Baldwin, ND; and his niece, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Fricke and his brother, Jerome "Jerry" Fricke.
